Getting Started
Creating an Account
To get started with Ohtli, you need to create a free account. Visit the registration page and choose one of two sign-up methods:
Email & Password — Enter your name, email address, and a password (minimum 8 characters). You will be signed in immediately after registration.
Google Account — Click the Google sign-in button to create your account using your existing Google credentials. This is the fastest way to get started.
Once registered, you will be taken to your dashboard where you can begin registering organisms.
Your Dashboard
The dashboard is your home base on Ohtli. It gives you an overview of your activity and quick access to all management features.
Overview panel — Shows your total entity count, how many seedlings you have, and how many are currently producing. Your five most recent entities are listed for quick access.
My Entities — A full table of all organisms you have registered, with columns for OHT-ID, name, species, origin, status, and creation date. You can view or edit any entity from here.
Register New — Start the multi-step process to register a new organism.
Labels — Generate and print QR code labels for your entities.
Profile — Edit your personal details, bio, and location.
Registering Your First Entity
Click "Register New" in your dashboard sidebar to begin. The registration process walks you through a few simple steps:
Step 1: Species & Origin — Select the species (e.g., tomato, pepper) and choose the origin type. "Founding Stock" means this is a new entry point into the Ohtli system. "Bred" means it was sexually reproduced from at least one Ohtli parent.
Step 2: Origin Details or Parents — For founding stock, you will confirm the source of the organism. For bred organisms, you will search for and select the parent entities.
Step 3: Details — Give your entity a name, description, location, and any relevant dates (when it was planted, when it started producing).
After submission, your entity receives a unique OHT-ID (like OHT-A1B2C) and gets its own public page with a QR code.
