Labels & QR Codes
Generating Labels
Ohtli can generate printable labels with QR codes for any of your registered entities. Labels connect physical organisms to their digital identity.
Navigate to the Labels page in your dashboard. You will see a list of all your entities. Select one or more entities to generate labels for.
After selecting entities, click to generate the labels. You will see a preview of each label with the entity's name, OHT-ID, species, and a QR code.
Download or print the labels directly from the preview. Labels are generated as a PDF that you can save or send to your printer.
Using QR Codes
Every entity on Ohtli has a unique QR code that links directly to its public page. QR codes make it easy for anyone — growers, consumers, visitors — to look up an organism instantly.
Attach labels to plant tags, pots, garden markers, or packaging. When someone scans the QR code with their phone camera, they are taken directly to the entity's page on Ohtli.
QR codes are one of the two rules of Ohtli: every certified organism must be traceable to its Ohtli page via QR code or OHT-ID number.
Printing Tips
For best results, print labels on weather-resistant or waterproof label stock if they will be used outdoors.
Standard label paper works well for indoor plants, market displays, and temporary identification.
Consider laminating printed labels for added durability in garden and field conditions.
Each label includes the OHT-ID as text alongside the QR code, so the entity can be looked up manually even if the QR code is damaged.
